Welcome! My name is Katy (she/her) and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor
(RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I
am also a Registered Art Therapist (RCAT) with the Canadian Art Therapy
Association (CATA). I work with adults experiencing a range of issues including
anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, identity concerns, eating disorders, relationship
issues, self-worth, and life transitions.
For the past fifteen years, I have worked with youth and adults from many
backgrounds and stages of life who have experienced difficulty with: anxiety,
depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, eating disorders, relationships, substance
use, perfectionism and self-worth, shame, grief and loss, life transitions, caregiver
burnout and vicarious trauma, and identity.
My work with individuals is rooted in a trauma-informed, strengths-based,
humanistic, and relational framework. I also draw from other counselling
modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Art Therapy,
Dialectical and Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness-based approaches.
My approach is warm, supportive, and non-judgmental. I would be honoured to
work together with you as you nurture your relationship with yourself and with
others.
